Released in 2003, Sony Ericsson T610 brought major innovations to the design of mobiles. This model was among the first to include joystick navigation, a color screen, bluetooth technology and a built-in camera. In its generation, Sony Ericsson T610 made history and change phone concepts for good. Still produced, Sony Ericsson T610 can only be purchased in one of the following colors: Volcanic Red, Aluminum Haze and Abyss Blue. The most common variant of this design is the aluminum color, which brought some complaints from customers who would have liked to enjoy something a bit more vivid or daring.

Even at present, the most frequently sold color of Sony Ericsson T610 remains Aluminum haze. Regardless of the color variation, the keypad is silvery in all phone designs. The phone has an incorporated camera, it can use the WAP for Internet connections, it uses polyphonic ring tones and Java formats. Since the technical features and design are somehow obsolete, you cannot expect built-in hands-free or speaker phone capabilities. In many opinions, Sony Ericsson T610 proves a pretty sophisticated phone despite the more modern alternatives. Besides the design variations between the American and the European models, the internal features are identical.

The most serious criticism brought to Sony Ericsson T610 is the fact that the joystick can turn on the phone or cause some unexpected dial outs. This could lead not only to premature battery wear but also to some people listening to unwanted conversations. The camera is also pretty slow and there is a rather poor picture quality. If we are to judge the cell performance by the present day standards, Sony Ericsson T610 is definitely obsolete and mediocre, yet for the time when it was produced, expectations couldn’t have been higher.

Last but not least, Sony Ericsson T610 enables voice commands, and, it is not at all over-priced; plus, it has a pretty long life expectancy. Moreover, nobody can complain that this phone is jammed with useless features because it only includes the very necessary items for an enjoyable phone use experience. Therefore, in case you consider buying an older but good phone model, you can definitely go for Sony Ericsson T610 without being disappointed. However, it’s not wise to take any word of advice literally without testing the phone in the first place.

Cell phones definitely have difficult names to remember, and each company uses a specific denomination for its products. Sony Ericsson makes no difference from other major producers as most of the formats used for naming mobile items rely on five or six characters with both letters and figures. In an example like K750i, the capital letter represents the series of the Sony phones, while the remaining characters have each an attached meaning. Thus, the first figure defines the sub-category, the third indicates the progression made from the former product release while the last can either be a 0 or an 8. The last elements of such phone names also brings some kind of information.

The 8 or 0, for instance, refer to the features of the products in relation to the market it was produced for. Or, the number can make the difference between Sony phones distinguished by features but identical in design. The lowercase letter designates the market on which the Sony phones are sold: thus, the ‘i’ represents the international brand, ‘a’ is for America and ‘c’ for China. The i-mode branding is designated by the ‘im’ particle present in the title of the phone.

This is not the only way of naming Sony phones, since more recent designs and formats follow a pattern made of three characters such as the P1i for instance. The capital letter tells the series of the phone, the number refers to progression as related to the previous releases and just as in the above model, the lowercase letter describes the target market. Code names are also attributed to Sony phones particularly to those that are in the process of development or improvement. Most such names are inspired by the female tennis player for which Sony Ericsson is a sponsor. For more details on the code names, you should access the lists of names available on various web pages.

The information encoded in the names of Sony phones is not easy to decipher by the average buyer who knows nothing of previous models, series or sub-series. Retailers will always have a large gallery of products including older models as well as the latest, and people keep guiding their choices after design and price tag. In fact, design comes before technical improvement in most of the new models launched by various producers.

Sony Ericsson Z520a is a clear example of what a good deal could mean for a buyer interested in quality communications. Surprisingly, the elements that attract most in the design are the light effects. One of the company’s logos is ‘Light up your world’ so you can imagine that one of the phone’s special characteristics is its system of lighting up. The light effects become active for unread messages, missed or incoming calls. Sony Erricson Z520a makes it possible to attach photos for every contact, and the caller will be identified before your opening the phone.

Due to such eye-catching features, the mobile phones market has grown larger. You’ve got lights, sound and visual display for the caller identification, and this is the reason why lots of people have grown too used to such features to give them up for other phone designs.

Sony Ericsson Z520a is a pretty small toy that weighs only 94 grams which makes it indeed very light. It may appear bulkier than other phones, but that is only because it is a fold model. If you unfold it, you will see that looks get a lot thinner. There is a 128×160 pixel resolution and it uses the new TFT technology (Thin Film Transistor) which makes the display rely on liquid crystals much like in the LCD technology. In case you care about the color choice, then you may take your pick from the three available variants: sandy gray, chalky white and new blue. Whichever of the three you choose, the phone will look pretty elegant in your hand.

Other features of Sony Ericsson Z520a of interest to a buyer are the memory and the battery performance. The producer configuration includes a 16 MB memory, although variations are possible. The battery may last up to 9 hours talk time and around 400 hours standby time. Of course, many more features of Sony Erricson Z520a, like camera, music, connectivity, messaging, Internet, organizer, communication, and so on, can be checked out by simply accessing the Sony Ericsson web site or any other site that sells this type of phone and automatically advertises it.

Sony Ericsson W800i was the first mobile in the Sony series to incorporate Walkman capabilities. The new innovative design enhanced the Bluetooth features, the Infrared and USB connectivity, all part of a very trendy look. After its release in 2005, Sony Ericsson W800i became a starting point or platform for further development in this field of electronics. The external memory capacity of the device is of only 2G, but in the context when it was produced, the outcome was a success. For that moment in particular, such memory size is considerable.

There are video recording features incorporated in the Sony Ericsson W800i, the camera has an autofocus and a flash. Moreover, the life extent of the battery for the playback music mode is of thirty hours, which is pretty much enough for any average needs. In fact, if the phone is on standby for a longer period of time, then, recharging will only be necessary now and then. The producer indicates a 400-hour functional battery for standby and a 9-hour period for talk-time. Sony Ericsson W800i can be still purchased from many retailers, and the prices have dropped significantly from the time of the release.

The main criticism for Sony Ericsson W800i is the fact that memory navigation is possible only by joystick use. Lots of users claim that this is more susceptible to damage and in time functionality problems tend to appear. Sony Ericsson W800i is also very prone to wearing, scratching and minor breaks in time particularly if it is not treated carefully. Complaints have been made about the fact that very often dust gets inside the display and blurs visibility. Yet, such inconveniences have not stopped Sony Erricsson W800i from becoming very popular and well sold.

The Chinese imitation known as Music Mobile W800c is the fake variant of Sony Ericsson W800i. The similarity with the Sony product is striking, and it is beyond any doubt that the producers took more than simple inspiration from the W800i series. The reliability of this fake item are doubtful and Sony Ericsson W800i in its original variant is definitely superior. Should you see this item while trying to find a suitable phone for you, don’t take the price tag as its only recommendation. Otherwise, you may waste your money on a poor mobile device that can fail you any moment!

Sony Ericsson W850i is a slider; a cell phone with an innovative design that replaces the older joystick with the five-way scroll key. A built-in Walkman and a big display, with these two features, Sony Ericsson W850i made good sales. While buyers who have an idea of what a phone should be from the technical point of view, make a more serious selection, less informed users are won over by the look of the phone. Available either black or white, this phone reflects elegance in its look; the main merit here comes from the 24 carat gold Walkman logo that catches the eye and makes an impression.

We could say that the beauty of Sony Ericsson W850i is not superficial, as it is an overall well built phone. The keypad is modern, featuring a light effect in the form of pulses that follow the music beat. On the inside, the music player is high class, rendering very quality music and an impeccable stereo sound in the FM radio too. The promotional package includes a stereo headset that amplifies the bass frequencies thanks to the incorporated Mega Bass feature. Music lovers really enjoy this mobile device thanks to its 1GB memory stick Pro Duo, which means that the phone can store around 250 tracks and still work well.

The designers have also brought improvements in what the management option is concerned. The drag and drop operation allows quick and easy file transfer by means of the USB cable. The Walkman software also enables the music download directly to the phone at a very high speed. One further noteworthy feature is the TrackID. If you don’t know who plays a certain song on the radio, this piece of software helps you track the album and the artist. A really incredible feature!

Sony Ericsson W850i comes with a built in camera allowing you to take very good quality pictures, using both the zoom and the digital flash. Then, you can also record all sorts of things as well as make 3G video calls. There is no autofocus included in the design, which makes the K800i model superior to Sony Ericsson W850i. Other than this minor flaw, reviews claim that Sony Ericsson W850i makes one of the best Walkman phones ever released. A cheaper non-3G version of Sony Ericsson W850i can also be bought in case you are after a bargain. Have a look at both models and see which works best for you!

Maybe Sony Ericsson T700 is a phone that tricks one with its heavy looks, but the 10 mm slim side prove that it is definitely a false appearance. It is easy on the wallet and ready to get things done. The telephone would qualify as medium on a first glance, but one cannot deny the fact that it looks stylish, not to mention that the menus and the features are all you can wish for in terms of data processing and interface. Many people have bought Sony Ericsson T700 not as much for its great looks as for the great price it comes at.

The first things to discuss with regard to Sony Ericsson T700 are the key features as there are more advantages to owning one than disadvantages. It is an extra slim telephone that is also very solid and astonishingly lightweight. The telephone is available in color variants such as black on red, black on silver and shining silver. It has a great aluminum finish which makes it wonderfully elegant. This telephone also has a decent media center, a fast photo browser, location services, smart dialing, a reliable battery cover release mechanism as well as finger print resistant covers.

You may want to also check the quad-band GSM, the Bluetooth, the camera, the memory, the radio, the mouse pointer and the browser options. If we consider the maximum talk time, this will not be higher than 9 hours and 30 minutes, although in standby mode, the phone can last up to 370 hours.

There are some downsides to Sony Ericsson T700 as well, and we cannot let them pass unnoticed. Among these weaker spots the most bothersome could be the faulty sound on the loudspeaker, the fact that it has no office document viewer, the memory size is pretty low and there is no auto-focus.

The truth is that the manufacturer tried to create a mid-range priced product that would catch the looks and sell well, and Sony Ericsson proved quite a success from this point of view. It seems that those who are keen on design peculiarity and perfection, will surely be satisfied with this phone. If you are an older Sony Ericsson user and you may have worked with other models, such as T610 for instance, you’ll fall in love with the T700. With the Sony Ericsson T700 the fast access to various media and the speed of communication are guaranteed all in one. This phone works great no matter whether you want a good looking phone or one that can be shown off in important business meetings.

Sony Ericsson S500i is a slide phone that boasts to have been inspired by nature itself. TThe producers insist a lot on the camera features included in the phone as this mobile can render very high quality snapshots taken at a good speed. The system that the phone relies on allows the user to connect the device to the computer and send any of the taken photos to a blog. Sony Ericsson S500i comes with a kit especially created to facilitate photo transfers, music files download and any other types of files transferring to a computer if the owner wishes to do so.

For people who are after a lightweight device, this mobile will make a great choice with its 94 grams. It is also very thin and the screen promises high quality images judging buy the TFT technology and the numerous colors it can display (262.144). There are four color variants for the Sony Ericsson S500i design: spring yellow, mysterious green, ice purple and contrasted copper. If we were to make an impression from the look, then the nature-inspiration claim may be justified.

Unlike other designs, Sony Ericsson S500i does not brag with a 16 MB memory as it only incorporates a 12 MB storage device. However it brings along one other advantage and that is the Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) which allows for additional storage of up to 2 GB. There is also a good battery performance too, as recharges are pretty rare for moderate speakers. When the phone is in standby mode, its battery may perform up to 370 hours. Consequently, from this point of view, Sony Ericsson S500i may appeal to people who travel a lot and need a long battery life.

Sony Ericsson S500i also provides modern and attractive features specific to advanced technology. The video streaming and viewing options, the 3D games, the camera, the media player and many other traits make Sony Ericsson S500i a good choice for buyers. The USB transfer of data is also possible which actually limits the use of the Bluetooth although this feature remains incorporated.

No doubt, the phones that will follow Sony Ericsson S500i will be a lot smarter and more interesting for the user, yet, it is interesting to think of what designers may come up with in terms of novelty.

Which is the best Sony Ericsson phone to purchase? The choice of a cell phone is easy or difficult depending on how you see the various capabilities included in the majority of the newer designs. Literally speaking, buying a mobile phone has become a pretty challenging task with shoppers addressing specialists in order to be able to understand something from the hi-tech features incorporated in modern design. The very relative standards of appreciation apply to the various Sony Ericsson phone models, but we should not forget the fact that the list of features makes the only viable criterion for mobile phone purchase.

Both features and price categories have to be compared in order for one to get a relevant picture of which Sony Ericsson phone suits one’s needs. Thus, try to learn all sorts of technical details for an item belonging to a certain price group. You should look for camera and radio, WAP browser, GSM modem, bluetooth connectivity, USB PC connectivity, the size of the internal memory, the presence or lack of expandable external memory and so on. Moreover, the Sony Ericson phone should match business or private necessities as well, because more capabilities may be required depending on the case.

The Sony Ericsson phone with an incorporated Walkman has brought a breath of fresh air on the market. The price tags for such devices are pretty accessible and besides their affordable nature, they also bring excellent music rendering quality. Many market sectors felt the impact of this innovation, but youngsters have made this Sony Ericsson phone design popular. The battery life is also important for the matter, because the music player or the radio can eat quite a lot of it. Moreover, a sometimes neglected aspect is the importance of being able to transfer data from the phone into a personal computer, and your Sony Ericsson phone needs to match such criteria.

The standard media manager that you may have grown used to on average Sony Ericsson phone models has been replaced by a new version in the recently released designs. There is an XMB media manager for all the Sony Ericsson phone designs that rely on the Java Platform 8 or A200 Platform. With the smart phone generation, another door has been opened towards the future with the use of the Windows Mobile Operating System into the Sony system.

Sony Ericsson P990i is one of the many mobiles designed by a company with an international reputation in communications and electronics. As it happens with many other electronic devices, there are pros and cons about this item that should be carefully taken into consideration before making a purchase.

According to both experts and users Sony Ericsson P990i is one of the best of Sony Ericsson mobiles in the smart-phone category. The sleek design and the QWERTY keyboard speak of it as relying on one of the latest technologies in mobiles manufacturing. The business card scanner, the video recording option with the Wi-Fi networks, the 3G/UMTS platforms, the music player, the good photo camera, make by far the best advertising means for this cellular.

The weak points of Sony Ericsson P990i can be identified in the rather bulky size, the spicy price and the too small keyboard. Thus, although a really nice choice for tech-oriented users, this telephone comes for too high a price for many buyers who may be tempted to look for it.

Sony Ericsson P990i phone has a memory stick PRO Duo and its installed flash memory is of 64 MB. There are lots of things this design offers in the area of messaging/data services, and here we touch upon voice mail capability, SMS, Internet browser, GPRS, JAVA applications, mobile Email, messaging/data features – XHTML browser, HSCSD, MMS, and WAP 2.0.

The phone also offers a lot of features in the cellular area such as WCDMA (UMTS)/GMS technology, WCDMA (UMTS)/GSM 900/1800/1900, vibrating alert, automatic redial, call divert, call barring, call hold, call timer, caller ID, call waiting, volume control, internal antenna, ringer control, conference call capability, computer link, speakerphone, voice recorder, call transfer, polyphonic ringer, melody composer and so on.

Let us not overlook additional features that are also worth considering such as video clip recording and Radio Data Service, Bluetooth, IEE 802.11b or Infrared. Music lovers also benefit from the AAC, MP3 digital audio standards of Sony Ericsson P990i. Besides, the huge 540-minute talk time and the 400-hour stand-by battery life, speak well in favor of this device. Plus, it’s hard to miss the battery alert for recharging.

Ever since Sony Ericsson P990i was presented by the company in the prototype format, it has incited many high-tech interested users and professionals who need or want to be up-to-date with the latest trends. But, as we’ve already said, the phone is also a budgetary challenge for many of those interested in the purchase.

Sony Ericsson is a joint venture that was established in October 2001. The two companies decided to work together to combine the expertise they had in consumer electronics and telecommunications. As a result they gave up work on creating their own mobile phones to come up with the Sony Ericsson mobile phone models that has made the new company the fifth most important world manufacturer of cellulars.

Beside the highly praised and really good Sony Ericsson mobile phones, the company is also well-known for its other products in the field of electronics such as wireless voice devices, hi-tech accessories, wireless data devices, wireless systems and mobile music devices. The company was propelled way ahead of its competitors thanks to the phones in the cyber-shot and the Walkman series. Candy bar phones are also very popular besides the Walkman and the cyber-shot designs.

Sony Erricson mobile phones are great for all categories of users regardless of age, gender or social status. They look sleek and stylish, but they also meet high operational standards. In addition, their interface which is intuitive and user-friendly together with their competitive prices contribute to their popularity. These phones have slide opening mechanisms and are available in different colors.

Mobile phones are now more special because of the business facilities, the music options and the design that come at very cheap rates. These phones are usually organized in categories such as the Walkman branded W series music phones, the BRAVIA collection, the UIQ smart phones or the Cyber-shot Sony Ericsson mobile devices.

The Sony Ericsson mobile phones that belong to the Walkman series were launched in 2005. They marked a great innovation moment because of the music-centric features unavailable with other phones. The Cyber-shot phones came out in 2006 in newer models in the K series of phones. These rely on the quality of the auto-focus camera incorporated in the phone. The UIQ smart-phone mobiles are famous for their touch screens, QWERTY keypads and use of the UIQ interface platform from Symbian OS.

The mobile phones in the Xperia range got public in February 2008 at the Mobile World Congress organized at Barcelona. This telephone led the path for the integration of the Windows Mobile Operating System into the Sony Ericsson powerhouse smart-phone. Finally, the BRAVIA line of Sony Ericsson mobile phones was launched on the Japanese market in 2007.
